Being Thankful

Gratitude

Devotional from Pastor Tim

In a world filled with chaos, disappointment, and pain, thankfulness can feel unrealistic. But biblical gratitude isn’t a feeling, it’s an attitude. It’s remembering who you are, what you’ve been given, and who holds you. We don’t give thanks for everything, but in everything. Why? Because in Christ we have every spiritual blessing, even when earthly ones feel scarce.

Gratitude isn’t pretending life is painless, it’s proclaiming that Jesus is present. It’s acknowledging that even in hardship, He is enough. Thankfulness grows not because life is easy, but because God is good. It’s what happens when our focus shifts from what’s unpredictable to what’s unshakably true: we are loved deeply, made new, and secured forever in Christ.

Your gratitude isn’t rooted in your circumstances. You don’t need a feeling—you need a foundation. And you already have that in Jesus.

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
