Enjoy the Gift

When God gives a gift, it’s not opened once, enjoyed for a moment, then set aside. What He gives is permanent and personal. The Gospel is called a gift. Jesus is the gift. And Romans 5 says those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through Him.

Receiving matters. We don’t mature out of our need for it, but many become better at hiding it. Grace invites us to stop pretending and start living from what’s already been given. Receiving may sound passive in a world addicted to achievement, but the truth is it is an active posture that rests in what Christ has accomplished, even when our pride wants to contribute.

The Gospel is too great to earn and too precious to maintain. It’s God’s generosity toward you — His presence, His righteousness, His forgiveness — all freely given.

So even as the Christmas season fades, the gift doesn’t. Right now, you are fully forgiven, completely righteous, and forever indwelt by His Spirit. This is what God has given. Let the gift of Christ define your everyday, not just your holiday.

2 Corinthians 9:15 “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
