Devotional from Pastor Tim Chalas
It’s easy to talk about faith. But talking alone doesn’t show real change in our hearts. James challenges us with a hard truth: faith without works is dead (James 2:17). This isn’t about trying to earn salvation, but expressing the new life you’ve received. You’re not working for God's love; you’re working from it.
When you trust Christ in you and truly believe who you are in Him—that you’re holy, righteous, and united to Jesus—your life begins to reflect that reality. Not perfectly, but authentically. Love, kindness, patience—they won’t feel like chores or rules to follow. Instead, they’ll flow naturally, like breathing, from a heart that’s been changed by Jesus.
Faith isn’t passive. It moves. It acts. It loves. It forgives. And it does all this not because we’re trying to be good enough, but because we know, deep down, that we are deeply loved and accepted just as we are. The good news is more than talk; it is life!
Titus 2:14…who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
