Devotional from Pastor Tim
“What are you worth?” It’s a question many of us answer based on performance. If we’re doing well, we feel valuable. If we fail, we feel less than. Religion reinforces this idea by tying our worth to what we accomplish.
But the gospel frees us from religion’s bondage!
Your worth is not measured by your effort, your success, or your consistency. It is revealed by the price God was willing to pay for you. And that price was His Son.
Picture a scale for a moment: you on one side, and on the other, the price required to balance it. God placed Jesus there for you. That means your value to Him is not fluctuating or uncertain. It is settled and unchanging. You are not worth what you do, how you feel, or what others may think…you are worth what God paid.
This kind of value is not earned; it is received. It flows from God’s love, not your performance. Even when feelings or circumstances try to convince you otherwise, the cross stands as the permanent declaration of your worth.
So when you feel insignificant or rejected, come back to this truth: your value was determined long before your greatest success or worst failure. You are deeply loved, fully accepted, and incredibly valued by God.
Let that truth reshape how you see yourself today, and when you know your worth, then you have something to share that is priceless…His unfailing love!
1 Corinthians 6:20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
