We often see ourselves through a lens of unworthiness, thinking that God would never truly want to be close to us. The enemy whispers lies, convincing us that we are too broken, too sinful, or too far gone for God to dwell in us. But the gospel tells a different story. It’s not just about God bringing you home to Him one day—it’s about Him making His home in you today.
God could have chosen to reside anywhere in the universe. He could have homesteaded Saturn, but He chose you. He is not distant. He is not waiting for you to become “good enough.” The same God who once resided in a man-made temple of gold now lives in you. You are not abandoned, you are not forgotten, and you are not unwanted. He doesn’t just come for visits, and He never leaves. You are His beloved home.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
