Discipleship Ministry

What is discipleship?

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,  "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even till the end of the age."

Literally this passage reads as you are going in this world make disciples. Whether you are on the mission field in a foreign country or at the soccer field right here at home, we have a unique privilege as children of God to be able to share the life we have received both organically and intentionally with others. Every Christian has what it takes to disciple because they have Jesus. Simply put, we believe discipleship at it's core is relational.

How do we seek to disciple at GLF?

The heartbeat of Grace Life's Discipleship Ministry is Grace Matters which is a biblical study covering truths such as concept of God, identity, law & grace, forgiveness, and walking by faith. The course is led by Community Pastor Tim Boswell and offers a variety of teachers. This small group offers opportunity for teaching, question and answer, dialogue, and fellowship. Our desire is for people to go deeper into these truths so they experience them personally and are equipped to share them with others.

In addition to Grace Matters, we offer discipleship in group and one-on-one settings. For more information contact, Community Pastor Tim Boswell

Transformation Prayer Ministry is also offered at GLF. TPM is a process by which someone can learn to willfully and intentionally cooperate with God in refining their faith/belief as they submit themselves under the mighty hand of God (1 Peter 5:6). The end result is the renewal of the mind (Ephesians 4:23) leading to a Christ-shaped transformation (Romans 8:28) and the peaceful fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12:11). To find out more about TPM or to schedule a session, please contact Roberta Schroeder at the church office at 225.769.8844.
